Not all shoes worn in crappy terrain are MADE for crappy terrain. I had another pair of 'trail' shoes from a different manufacturer. I thought it was a good deal for $80, but after 5 days, I noticed the toe box angled my large and small toes inward. Not natural for me, especially since I am a minimalist runner. These shoes right out of the box was the difference between night and day. You can order true to size. The heel cup is not too snug but won't let you slip around or have to perform a special lacing style to make it feel good and secure. They feel a little heavy out the box but pretty light when you slip into them. For your comfort, I'd reccommend using socks such as smartwool hiking socks where they are strong, thin and wick away moisture.
I've never owned a pair of these hiking shoes, but I am glad I read tester reviews and the specifications. I have not been disappointed yet. If you are a minimalist runner, you may really appreicat......
