Product Review
I have worn NB 990 series running shoes for 15 years, which is why I'm comfortable buying them online. They have made tweaks to the model line over the years, but I still find them very comfortable for running/exercising given that I tend to over-pronate and need a wider size. The local bricks and mortar sports store only carries the D and 4E sizes, not the 2E, so being able to buy the correct size was the determining factor for my online purchase. The Amazon price was only $5 lower than the physical store, so other than the tax savings the price wasn't really a factor. I assume that's due to the "Made in USA" claim of these shoes and based on the prices I observed for other shoes made outside the US, I would say the "patriot premium" is not insignificant.
The cushioning is noticeably less after several months of running. I haven't tried using inserts but I would expect this to be the same with most running shoes. Exer......
