I first purchased a pair of these Spira walking shoes about 5 years ago and the ones purchased from Amazon are my third pair. I turned to Amazon after my traditional source, a local shoe store, closed their doors after the owner died. I found it difficult to find another shoe store that carried them but was pleased to find them on Amazon. These shoes have patented springs built into the soles, which creates a sort of shock absorber for your feet and knees. You have no sensation of walking on springs, only comfort -- and they wear like iron. They are expensive but worth every penny and they last forever. I wear mine virtually every day and they always look like new even though I shovel snow in the winter and mow my lawn in the summer, all the time wearing these shoes. If they get a little scuffed, a little black shoe polish brings them back to like-new condition. Try a pair and you will not be sorry. I did find that they run a little small. I norm......
